I can’t believe I made it to day 12 in my holiday decorating series! For our final day I left the best for last, the Christmas tree.
Over the last 10+ years I’ve always had a real tree. This year we opted for an artificial one so we wouldn’t come home from Winnipeg to a pile of needles. While our substitute tree is nice (and very very bright!) it doesn’t come close to having the real mcCoy with it’s uneven branches and it’s Christmasy scent. In tonight’s post I rounded up my a few of my favourite traditional trees done in a new way and a few not so traditional trees that I love.
To me a real tree has character. It may not be perfectly straight and it might have a large open spot on one side, but their uneven branches I find are the best for showing off your favourite ornaments. Source
I did consider getting a small real tree and displaying it on a pedestal table we have in our front window. This look seems to be trending everywhere this year. Source
Another trend I noticed was that flocked trees are making a comeback! Source
If you don’t have the room for a big tree here are a few examples of some fabulous looking alternatives: All you need is a few branches from your yard. Source
And if you’re looking for something completely:I think this would be fun in a kids room. Source
This would be fairly easy to recreate. Source
Now here’s something you could do with that potted tree that you forgot to take indoors last fall;) Source
This is how one makes a statement! Source
The perfect tree for the non fussy minimalist! Source
So this wraps up my 12 Days of Holiday Decorating!
I’m not used to posting so often or writing everyday but I have to say I did enjoy putting these post together 🙂 Next year I have big plans for this blog and my newsletters that I can’t wait to share with you in the New Year!
In case I don’t get a chance to post while I’m away, I hope you have a safe and wonderful holiday and I wish you much Love, Happiness and Joy for 2016.
